About Alice – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I’m Alice, a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I am certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed to practice and prescribe in the state of Virginia. I have worked as a nurse practitioner for over 8 years and am dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) as well as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). My background in primary care managing various psychiatric diagnoses as well as several acute, chronic, and complex medical diagnoses has allowed me to look at the whole picture of an individual's health and how mental health plays a role in all parts of our well-being.

I am passionate about helping people to live life as the version of themselves they aspire to be. It is my firm belief that addressing and treating mental health concerns appropriately is an integral step in helping people to achieve this. My approach utilizes what I like to call the 3 E’s – empathy, education, and empowerment. Empathy for my clients and their situations – mental health challenges cause pain for many people. Education for clients regarding pathophysiology, treatment options, and the way brains work. Client empowerment that they are capable, knowledgeable, and deserving of help.
